¡Las mascotas son lo máximo! 🥰 Desde que nací, he estado rodeada de peludos compañeros ☺️ Siempre he tenido un amigo de cuatro patas, una mascota aviar, a mi lado... y así lo he preferido. Los animales me brindan una hermosa sensación de consuelo y comprensión, y los adoro por ello 🥺

Pets are the best! 🥰 Ever since the day I was BORN, I have been surrounded by furry companions ☺️ There has always been a four-legged friend, an avian pet, right alongside me... and I have preferred it this way. There is a beautiful sense of comfort and understanding that comes with animals, and I absolutely adore them for it 🥺

De pequeña, mi infancia ha consistido en tener casi todo tipo de mascotas: varios perros y gatos, un pájaro, un hámster, un tritón, un pez dorado ¡y hasta un erizo! 🦔😍
Aunque me encantan los perros, NO soy una perrera; la cantidad de cuidados y atención que requieren es demasiado para mí. Adoro a los gatos, pero no me gusta demasiado lo temperamentales que pueden ser; son muy distantes. Aunque una mascota más pequeña no es mi primera opción, tener un erizo fue genial 😄 Pero, repito, no son animales demasiado cariñosos.

Growing up, my childhood has consisted of nearly every variety of pet: multiple dogs and cats, a bird, hamster, newt, goldfish, and even a hedgehog! 🦔😍
Although I love dogs, I am NOT a dog person; the amount of care and attention they require is too much for me. I love cats, but don't overly enjoy how temperamental they can be -- very standoffish. While a smaller pet isn't my first choice, having a hedgehog was pretty neat 😄 But again, they are not overly affectionate animals.

¡Esta era mi erizo! 🥰 Se llamaba Peaches y la quería muchísimo. 🥺 Mi orgullo y alegría... Era un placer tener a Peaches como mascota. Si alguna vez has conocido a un erizo, sabes lo extremadamente cautelosos que pueden ser: ¡se hacen una bola y te sacan las púas! 😱 Por desgracia, la mayoría de los erizos mantienen este comportamiento toda su vida. Yo sacaba a Peaches a jugar todos los días, y seguía echándose púas. 😂
Los erizos son animales solitarios; NO se llevan bien con otros erizos. 😰 En cuanto a otras mascotas, ¡nuestros gatos y perros encontraban a Peaches interesante! Nunca los dejábamos solos cuando estábamos juntos. Peaches vivía en un recinto ENORME que consistía en su rueda de hámster, un túnel para esconderse y su comedero de gusanos de la harina. 🤮

Hablo de Peaches en pasado porque, por desgracia, falleció... Los erizos viven unos 5 años, y la tuve de 2019 a 2024. Tuvo una vida maravillosa, hizo un montón de amigos y la querían muchísimo. ❤️...

This was my hedgehog! 🥰 Her name was Peaches, and I loved her to death 🥺 My pride and joy... Peaches was a delight to have as a pet. If you have ever met a hedgehog, then you know how extremely cautious they can be -- they will immediately turn into a ball and puff their spikes out at you! 😱 Unfortunately, most hedgehogs will retain this demeanor their entire lives. I would take Peaches out to play every day, and she would still puff up at me 😂
Hedgehogs are solitary creatures -- they do NOT play well with other hedgehogs 😰 As for other pets, our cats and dogs found Peaches interesting! We would never leave the animals alone while together. Peaches lived in a HUGE enclosure that consisted of her running hamster wheel, a tunnel to hide under, and her food dish of mealworms 🤮

I speak of Peaches in the past tense because unfortunately, she did pass away... Hedgehogs live for about 5 years, and I had her from 2019-2024. She had a wonderful life, made a ton of friends, and was loved very much ❤️...

Esta es Baby Boo 😺 Es la única mascota que tenemos actualmente. Es una mascota maravillosa, ¡aunque un poco rara! Es una gata a la que le encanta sentarse en tu hombro, le encanta dar paseos en coche, hubo una época en que la llevábamos a pasear con correa, ¡y viene corriendo cada vez que oye calentar la ducha! 😂

This is Baby Boo 😺 She is the one and only pet that we currently have. She is a wonderful pet, although she is a weird one! She is a cat that loves sitting on your shoulder, loves going for car rides, there was a time when we would take her for walks on a leash, and she comes running whenever she hears the shower warm up! 😂

Así que esta es mi lista de mascotas favoritas 🙏 Mis 3 favoritas, de menos a más, son:

1. Lagarto 🦎
2. Pez 🐠
3. Ave 🦜

Los lagartos son curiosos. ¡Son excelentes mascotas, considerando que hay tantas especies únicas! Me gusta especialmente el dragón barbudo. Aún requiere mucho mantenimiento, en cuanto a su entorno, mantener la temperatura ideal, la dieta... También me cuesta conectar con ellos. Hay quienes se conforman con tener un lagarto descansando sobre su hombro, pero a mí me sigue pareciendo un poco flojo...

So this has become my standings for choice of pet 🙏 My top 3 choices, from least to most favored is:

3. Lizard 🦎
2. Fish 🐠
1. Bird 🦜

Lizards are curious ones. They are great pets for the fact that there are so many unique species! I particularly like the Bearded Dragon. There is still a lot of maintenance, in terms of their home environment, maintaining the ideal temperature, diet... I also have a difficult time bonding with them. Some people can be perfectly content with a lizard chilling on their shoulder, but I still find it a bit lacking...

Los peces también pueden sorprender a algunas personas; no tienen mucha capacidad emocional. O eso parece... La gente juzga las cosas según cómo experimenta la vida, y como los peces no pueden experimentar tanto como nosotros (por ejemplo, los peces no hablan ni hacen ruido), se les da bastante poca importancia...
Pero yo percibo a los peces de otra manera. Me encanta cómo todos vienen a inspeccionar mi dedo cuando lo acerco al cristal. ¡Qué cosas tan curiosas! 🥺 Mi corazón anhela liberarlos; se me parte el alma porque todos los demás solo ven "peces tontos"... Si los tuviera, les haría cosquillas cada vez que se acercaran a la superficie del agua 🥰

Fish may come as a surprise to some people as well; they don't have much emotional capacity. Or so it seems, anyway... People judge things according to how they experience life, and because fish can't experience as much as we do (example: fish don't talk/make noise), they are placed pretty low on people's list...
But I perceive fish differently. I love the way that they will all come to inspect my finger when I push it up against the glass. Curious little things! 🥺 My heart yearns to set them free; it breaks because everyone else just sees "dumb fish"... If I had them, I would give them all little tickles every time they came near the surface of the water 🥰

Y en el primer puesto está el animal que me ha robado el corazón: el pájaro 🐦 😍 Me encantan los pájaros por su comunicación tácita. Quizás te cueste creerlo, ¡con sus constantes graznidos! 😅 Pero nunca has experimentado la absoluta incredulidad, el silencio atónito, cuando un pájaro se da cuenta de que TÚ puedes graznar de vuelta. La simple comprensión de que: "Este es un amigo. Estoy a salvo aquí".

And at the top spot is the animal that has stolen my heart: the bird 🐦 😍 I love birds for their unspoken communication. You might find that hard to believe, what with their constant squawking! 😅 But then you have never experienced the sheer disbelief -- the stunned silence -- when a bird realizes that YOU can squawk back. The simple understanding that, "This is a friend. I am safe here"
