AN Christmas Contest; Christmas decorations with branches and trees decorated with lights and ribbons ☃️🎄
This is my entry for the Nature and Christmas contest. I appreciate the invitation from @jlufer and extend it to @annafenix and @quiubi. Talking about Christmas brings back many childhood memories and some of the natural materials we used to make our Christmas tree. I was looking through the photos in my family album for one of the little tree we made with branches, but unfortunately, there isn't a picture of it. During my childhood, there was a lovely trend of making trees with branches. We would go to the countryside or our backyard to find the bushiest branch. Once we had selected the branch, we would make a mixture of water and soap. The idea was to make it as foamy as possible, and we would apply this foam all over the tree. When the foam dried, the tree would turn white, or a different color depending on the soap used. It was quite an adventure and a lovely experience to make these trees; once dry, they were decorated with pine cones and other ornaments, and finally the lights.
Esta es mi entrada para el concurso Naturaleza y Navidad, agradezco la invitación de @jlufer y la extiendo a @annafenix y @quiubi, hablar de la Navidad, me trae muchos recuerdos de la infancia y algunos de los materiales naturales que utilizábamos para hacer el árbol de navidad, estuve buscando entre la fotografías de mi álbum familiar una donde apareciera el arbolito que hacíamos con ramas pero lamentablemente no hay una foto de este árbol, durante mi infancia había una moda muy bonita de hacer los árboles con ramas nos dirigíamos al campo o al patio de la casa a buscar la rama más frondosa, una vez que teníamos la el árbol seleccionado hacíamos una mezcla de agua y jabón la idea era que quedara lo más espumoso posible y esta espuma la íbamos agregando en todo el árbol, al secarse la espuma el árbol quedaba de color blanco o dependiendo del color del jabón que se utilizara, era toda una aventura y una linda experiencia hacer estos árboles, ya secos, se decoraban con las piñas de los pinos y otros adornos, finalmente la luces.
Another material widely used for making Christmas decorations is branches. They're used to make the famous snowmen. Last week, my son and I made one for the school decorations. I took foam and cardboard, cut out four circles, joined them together, added the hat, nose, eyes, and scarf, and used two branches for the arms. The branches should be dry; this is best so they can stick together and become part of the snowman. When they're green and start to dry, the glue tends to come off, and then the branches fall off. I remember that in my childhood we always made snowmen, whether with Styrofoam balls, fabric, or now with foam. I always use dry tree branches for the arms.
Otro material muy utilizado para hacer adornos navideños, son las ramas con ella se hacen los famosos muñecos de nieve, la semana pasada elaboré uno, con mi hijo para las decoraciones del colegio, tomé el foami y cartón, corté cuatro círculos los uní, agregué el sombrero la nariz, los ojos, la bufanda y utilicé dos ramas para los brazos, las ramas deben estar secas, es lo más recomendable para que puedan compactar y unirse al muñeco, porque cuando están verde y empiezan a secarse, la pega suele desprenderse y entonces las ramas se caen, recuerdo que en mi infancia siempre hacíamos los muñecos de nieve ya sea con bolas de anime, con tela y ahora con foami, para hacer los brazos, siempre utilizo ramas de árboles secas.
Trees are now also used to add color and light to Christmas. It's common to see trees with colored lights in plazas and avenues, adorning them and bringing joy and color to the city. In Plaza Miranda, Plaza Bolívar, and Ayacucho Park, several trees with many lights can be seen. They may not be visible during the day, but at night we can appreciate the beauty of the lights and their beautiful colors. Specifically, in Plaza Bolívar, there is a leafy tree whose trunk is decorated with lights. In Plaza Miranda, the trees also have lights on their trunks and ribbons.
In Ayacucho Park, I saw the decorations for the first time at the tops of the trees, including the Samán tree Samanea saman, The park is an important venue for celebrating the anniversary of the Battle of Ayacucho, where Antonio José de Sucre, a hero from Cumaná, earned the title of Grand Marshal. I believe this is why the decorations were placed at the top this year. You can see hoops, stars, and light bars that beautify the park and the plaza. The trees also have lights on their trunks, adorning and illuminating this space, which is an important meeting point for the city's residents and families. This has been my contribution to this beautiful initiative, "Christmas and Nature."
Actualmente se emplean también los árboles para darle colorido y luz a la Navidad, es común ver en las plazas y avenidas, los árboles con luces de colores, que adornan y le dan alegría y colorido a la ciudad, en la plaza Miranda, plaza Bolívar y parque Ayacucho de la ciudad, se aprecian varios árboles con muchas luces, tal vez en el día no sean visibles, pero en el horario nocturno podemos apreciar la belleza de las luces y sus hermosos colores, específicamente en la plaza Bolívar de la ciudad se encuentra un árbol frondoso, el cual está decorado en su tronco con luces, en la plaza Miranda también los árboles tienen luces en el tronco y cintas.
En el parque Ayacucho, las decoraciones por primera vez, las he visto en la parte de arriba de los árboles, entre ellos el Samán Samanea saman, ya que la plaza constituye importante escenario, para celebrar el aniversario de la Batalla de Ayacucho, donde el prócer cumanés Antonio José de Sucre, obtuvo el título de Gran Mariscal, creo por ese motivo este año las decoraciones se colocaron en la parte superior, se pueden observar aros, estrellas y barras luminosas que embellecen la la plaza y el parque, los árboles también tienen sus luces en los troncos que adornan e iluminan este espacio, que constituye un importante punto de encuentro para los habitantes y familias de la ciudad, esta ha sido mi entrada para esta hermosa iniciativa Navidad y naturaleza.

me sorprende que muchas personas nos comentan que en su infancia creaban arboles de navidad con cosas naturales, pero a la vez me preocupa como en adultos dejamos de trasmitir esa herencia a nuestros hijos, en lo particular en mi casa siempre fue todo de plastico, imaginas en maracaibo conseguir un arbol? jajjaa puede ser por ello es una tierra muy arida! pero en ocasiones mi mama si hacia decoraciones con materiales reciclable, le gustaba mucho deshidratar frutas y las usaba como decoracion ej: rodajas de limon, gracias por tu participacion y mucha suerte
I'm surprised that so many people tell us they made Christmas trees out of natural materials when they were children, but at the same time, I'm worried about how we, as adults, stop passing that tradition on to our children. Hola @biologistbrito, es cierto muchas tradiciones de la infancia se han ido perdiendo, hacer estos árboles con rama y espuma de jabón era toda una aventura y trabajo en equipo, con anticipación se iniciaba el proceso de colocar la espuma de jabón, luego dejar secar y finalmente adornar, las piñas también eran muy usadas para decorar, tal vez el proceso de industrialización y el ritmo de vida tan acelerado que vivimos han contribuido a sustituir el uso de recursos naturales para decorar, por productos de plástico que no requieren mucho tiempo para ensamblar, sacas de la caja y en pocos minutos tienes el árbol listo para colocar los adornos.

Hello @biologistbrito, it's true that many childhood traditions have been lost. Making these trees with branches and soap suds was quite an adventure and required teamwork. The process began in advance with placing the soap suds, then letting it dry, and finally decorating it. Pinecones were also widely used for decoration. Perhaps industrialization and the fast pace of life we live today have contributed to replacing the use of natural resources for decoration with plastic products that don't take long to assemble. You take them out of the box, and in a few minutes, you have a tree ready to decorate.
