Hive Summit Aachen 2025

Our with @rollie1212 adventure to the Hive Summit in Aachen began bright and early in Prague at 7:00 AM. With coffee-fueled energy, we hit the road toward Leipzig, where we made our first essential stop: a wholesale store with one mission in mind, stocking up on some legendary Gose sour beer. Mission accomplished✅

From there, we embarked on a true cross-country road trip, driving east to west across Germany, almost horizontally. It felt a bit like cruising the German version of Route 66. Unfortunately, since it was Friday, the autobahns were packed, and endless traffic jams tested our patience. What kept us going was the thought of finally joining the Hive frens at the summit.

Day 1 – Three Borders, One Party

@detlev , the mastermind behind the Hive Summit, had prepared a brilliant program that started at a truly unique spot: the point where Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium all meet. Here, a restaurant welcomed summit guests with cold drinks and warm conversations.

Sadly, after battling traffic all day, we arrived half an hour before the event wrapped up. Still, we made the most of it, enjoying a beer, catching up with fellow Hivers, and soaking in the special atmosphere of this borderland gathering.

Later that evening, after checking into our hotels, we regrouped for a screening of @lordbutterfly `s documentary about blockchain and Hive, a perfect way to end the first day.

Day 2 – Hive in a Former Church

The second day of the summit took us to one of the most original venues we’ve ever seen: Digital Hub Aachen, a coworking space located inside a former Catholic church. Imagine stained-glass windows meeting laptops and blockchain discussions, it was surreal and very cool.

The day was packed with inspiring speakers, engaging panel discussions, and endless networking. But one thing stood out just as much as the blockchain talk: the food. Thanks to Detlev’s hospitality, the catering was so abundant that at times we wondered if we’d accidentally come to a food festival rather than a blockchain summit🪄

Between the meals, the talks, and strolls around the beautiful historic city of Aachen, the day flew by.

A Big Thank You

As our trip came to an end, we felt grateful to be part of such a vibrant community. A huge thanks to Detlev for the flawless organization, and beer greetings to @borniet and all the members of the Hive crowd we met. It was a joy to connect, and we can’t wait to see you all again at the next summit.

Until then, cheers from Prague 🍻
