La ciudad este año 2025 celebra el 150 aniversario de la patrona del lugar, la virgen de la Victoria, y como siempre digo más allá de que es un evento religioso, desde mi gusto particular, lo que más me gusta él es arte que lo rodea.

Se han realizado desde mayo hasta ahora muchos eventos para conmemorar este acontecimiento y no son pocos años sino una fiesta importante y mucha gente aquí es muy devota. Ha habido procesiones y celebraciones parecidas en torno a estos 150 años, pero recientemente me enteré que también había una exposición y como ya les digo, no miro el punto de vista religioso, sino lo artístico.

Por lo que hace unos días concurrí al edificio del archivo municipal donde dos o tres veces al año se realizan exposiciones especiales, fuera de lo común, no es de las galerías que suelo visitar, porque sólo está abierto el lugar en eventos o exposiciones especiales como esta.

Estando allí me encontré con que no sólo los malagueños visitaban la muestra, sino que para muchos turistas era de interés, aún hay muchos en la ciudad, aunque el verano acaba de terminar, pero los tours siguen llegando.

Since May, there have been many events to commemorate this occasion, and it is not just a few years but an important celebration, and many people here are very devout. There have been processions and similar celebrations around these 150 years, but I recently found out that there was also an exhibition, and as I said, I don't look at it from a religious point of view, but from an artistic one.

So a few days ago, I went to the municipal archive building where two or three times a year they hold special, unusual exhibitions. It's not one of the galleries I usually visit because it's only open for events or special exhibitions like this one.

While I was there, I found that not only the people of Malaga were visiting the exhibition, but that it was also of interest to many tourists. There are still many in the city, even though summer has just ended, but the tours continue to arrive.

El lugar tenía preparadas dos salas tanto con información, la cual era bastante, en diversos carteles que guiaban a todas las personas que concurrían al lugar para ver la muestra, como por obras muy variadas, desde esculturas, cuadros al óleo, dibujos, arte textil y mucho más.

Los materiales también variaban, habia obras hechas en madera, metal como también bordados en oro o piezas hechas en plata. Por supuesto en estos casos, sobre todo las cosas de oro estaban en vitrinas y había bastante seguridad, gente de lugar recorría las salas constantemente y siempre habia una persona mirando.

Todo lo he mirado desde el punto de vista del arte más que del religioso, pero si debo tener en cuenta que mucho de este tipo de arte se hacían en materiales muy costosos en la antigüedad, incluso muchos mantos de las vírgenes que veo en las iglesias cuando las recorro tienen este tipo de bordados en hilos de oro.

Tuve la dicha de que mi amiga que es modista me acompaño en este recorrido y me comentaba que todos esos bordados, por el tipo de material, son bordados a mano, por lo cual no sólo tiene un gran valor monetario, sino que tiene un gran valor artístico.

Luego de visitar la muestra quise saber más información al respecto y encontré este artículo en internet. La gran cantidad de obras de arte religioso que hay en ese lugar constituyen un gran tesoro artístico y muy valioso del patrimonio de la ciudad.

The materials also varied, with works made of wood, metal, gold embroidery, and silver. Of course, in these cases, especially the gold items were in display cases and there was a lot of security, with local people constantly patrolling the rooms and always someone watching.

I looked at everything from an artistic rather than a religious point of view, but I must bear in mind that much of this type of art was made from very expensive materials in ancient times. Even many of the mantles of the virgins that I see in churches when I visit them have this type of gold thread embroidery.

I was fortunate that my friend, who is a dressmaker, accompanied me on this tour and told me that all of these embroideries, due to the type of material, are hand-embroidered, which means that they not only have great monetary value, but also great artistic value.

After visiting the exhibition, I wanted to know more about it and found this article on the internet. The large number of religious works of art in this place constitute a great artistic treasure and a very valuable part of the city's heritage.

Miraba los rostros de las esculturas, la excelencia de los cuadros al óleo y sobre todo las piezas bordadas y me maravillaba de su calidad y perfección. También pude ver varias vitrinas con distintos documentos, fotografías y artículos sobre el tema, muy antiguos, por cierto. Y no sólo hubo el arte tradicional de esculturas y cuadros sino también dibujos, carteles y hasta papeles que se entregaban en alguna época a aquellos que compraban rifas a beneficio de alguna causa.

El hecho es que se puede ver de todo un poco en la exposición, es muy completa y nos lleva a mucho año atrás en la historia, por supuesto todo está relacionado con la hermandad de la Victoria y a ella misma como figura.

The fact is that you can see a little bit of everything in the exhibition. It is very comprehensive and takes us back many years in history, all of which is related to the Brotherhood of La Victoria and the figure itself.

Una de las cosas que más llamó mi atención fue ver en una de las paredes una representación de como ha cambiado en la historia la figura de esta virgen, en si misma ella no cambia, pero si todo lo que la rodea, desde la corona, detalles, decoraciones, vestimenta y el niño a su lado.

También me encontré con un altar especial preparado donde el arte era muy antiguo, se notaba en el cuadro muy oscuro y los detalles como los candelabros

Sobre todo, de este tipo de exposiciones me gusta el nivel de detalle explicativo mediante carteles en todas partes, por lo que si bien hay personas presentes que pueden darnos información, todo está allí para leer.

Pude disfrutar de este evento desde un punto de vista artístico, que es lo que más me gusta, la calidad y antigüedad del arte, el cual se encuentra en todos los aspectos de la vida.

One of the things that caught my attention the most was seeing a representation on one of the walls of how the figure of this virgin has changed throughout history. She herself does not change, but everything around her does, from the crown, details, decorations, clothing, and the child at her side.

I also came across a special altar where the art was very old, as could be seen in the very dark painting and details such as the candlesticks.

Above all, what I like about this type of exhibition is the level of detail provided by the explanatory signs everywhere, so even though there are people present who can give us information, everything is there to read.

I was able to enjoy this event from an artistic point of view, which is what I like most, the quality and age of the art, which is found in all aspects of life.
