Joseph's Secret - First Part | Far Cry New Dawn

I was a lot interested for this mission as I knew I could see the known face again, no matter if it was the villain or what. And I was hoping to find what happened to the deputy at the end of Far Cry 5 as well.

And after going inside the shade there, I found someone sitting/waiting for me. Was that Joseph?

Oh yeah, its the Joseph Seed who is the reason behind the reborn of the world and also to extinction of countless peoples. He's now old and weak but he still got that vision of making the world a better place, in his way.

He said he did everything he was asked, he sacrificed himself, his family. He let them into the new world thinking it'd be glorious.

But he realized hew as wrong and said he waited for so long for someone to come that he'd begun to despair. He started manipulating my character saying he saw me in his dream and knew I'd go to him.

He said he can't help me, only god can and that god has a better plan for me. He showed me a special tree on the cliff of the hill above that was full of pink flowers. And he asked me to walk with him outside.

Joseph's Secret, the mission started just now and I had to follow the father, Joseph. I stopped there for a moment to check on Joseph. I see, he lost good weight being alone and he has change in his appearance as well.

When I was following him, he started talking what happened after the cleansing that he mentioned happened for god's fire. He gathered his flock and set them into a new path: a rejection of everything connected to the old world.

He said New Eden thrived and they created a paradise in earth which didn't last saying the highwaymen embody everything. I noticed we were on top of the cliff already.

Following Joseph, we reached the tree of ink leaves and I noticed there were barrels of bliss on top of there which says how the whole route was affected.

Touching the tree, Joseph said this is the help I was seeking. There were apples on the tree though it didn't look like an apple tree.

Joseph said this is God's gift to us which sustained his family through the darkest time. He offered me an apple from the tree saying its their miracle. He said the first time he partook of this gift, he was confronted by a ravenous beast and he had to slay that beast in order to be worthy of God's gift.

He asked me to cleanse my soul saying this is God's gift and when my character had a bite of that apple, he started seeing things and Joseph asked him to go kill the beast.
