This time I bring you a very simple recipe, but at the same time delicious, one of those that you prepare quickly and that always end up being a success at home and in this way I join this week's Hive Top Chef contest: Sausages, sponsored by @qurator. Sometimes we think that to surprise in the kitchen we need expensive ingredients or complicated techniques, but this recipe is proof that with very little you can prepare an excellent dish. These crispy sausage popsicles are golden brown on the outside and juicy on the inside. I'll show you how to prepare them.
Hola mis queridos amigos amantes de las delicias culinarias, espero que se encuentren bien en el día de hoy. En esta ocasión les traigo una receta muy sencilla, pero al mismo tiempo deliciosa, de esas que uno prepara rápido y que siempre terminan siendo un éxito en casa y de esta manera me sumo al concurso de esta semana de Hive Top Chef: Salchichas, patrocinado por @qurator. A veces creemos que para sorprender en la cocina necesitamos ingredientes costosos o técnicas complicadas, pero esta receta es la prueba de que con muy poco se puede preparar un excelente plato. Se trata de unas paletas de salchichas crujientes que quedan doraditas por fuera y jugosas por dentro. Enseguida les muestro como prepararlos.
Ingredients//Ingredientes
3 sausages//3 Salchichas
1 Egg//1 Huevo
1/2 cup flour//1/2 taza de harina
1/3 cup water//1/3 taza de agua
Salt//Sal
Garlic powder//Ajo en polvo
Cumin//Comino
Oil for frying//Aceite para freír

The first thing to do is to cut the sausages into pieces of approximately 2 cm, I choose this size because it is practical, neither so big that they become too big that they become so small that they get lost in the frying process. After they are cut, insert the toothpicks in the centre. In this step it is important not to bring the toothpicks all the way to the bottom so that they are just right and don't run.
Lo primero es cortar las salchichas en trozos de 2 cm aproximadamente, escojo este tamaño porque es práctico, ni tan grandes que empalagan ni tan pequeños que se pierden en la fritura. Después que estén cortadas, introducir los palillos en el centro. En este paso es importante no llevar los palillos hasta el fondo para que queden justo y no se corran.

Next, the flour is added to a bowl followed by a pinch of salt, garlic powder and cumin, mixing everything well to integrate it. These seasonings make the dough taste better.
Seguidamente, se añade en un recipiente la harina seguida de una pizca de sal, ajo en polvo y comino, mezclando todo muy bien para integrarlo. Estos condimentos hacen que la masa tome un mejor sabor.

Then add the egg and water, the latter is added a little at a time until the dough has a smooth texture, neither too runny nor too thick, so that everything is mixed evenly. I like it so that it sticks well to the sausages, but does not form a heavy layer.
Luego se le agrega el huevo y el agua, esta última se va echando de a poco hasta que la masa quede con una textura suave, ni muy líquida ni muy espesa, para esto se va mezclando uniformemente todo. Me gusta que quede de tal manera para que se adhiera bien a las salchichas, pero que no forme una capa pesada.

Now dip each piece in the mixture, making sure that it is well covered on all sides. Then, in a frying pan with plenty of hot oil, add each of the popsicles and let them cook well on both sides. Once they are golden brown, take them out and let them drain well on absorbent paper to remove the excess fat. These popsicles are delicious as they are, but if you want to give them a more special touch you can accompany them with your favourite sauces.
Ahora se pasa cada trocito por la mezcla, procurando que quede bien cubierto por todos lados. Luego en un sartén con abundante aceite caliente se van agregando cada una de las paletas dejándolas cocinar muy bien por ambos lados y una vez estén doradas, se sacan y se dejan escurrir bien en papel absorbente para retirar el exceso de grasa. Estas paletas quedan deliciosas tal cual, pero si quieres darle un toque más especial puedes acompañarlas de tus salsas preferidas.
