Mountain bluebirds are smalls thrushes distinguished by vibrant ,all-blue males and gray blue females with hints of blue on their wings and tails.

They possess long wings, a long tail,and a thinner bill than other bluebirds...
These birds forage for insects by hovering and then dropping to the ground,or by catching then in mid-air..

Like other bluebirds, they nest in tree cavities,such as old woodpecker holes....
