Hello everyone, good morning! Today I'm joining the first contest of the year on Amazing Nature, thanks to the invitation from my friend @brujita18. It's titled: How would you change the world?. I'd like to extend this invitation to my friends @tonyes and @nathyortiz.

There's a phrase I've often repeated that I've kept in mind throughout my teaching career: "Transmit values ​​to my students not only with words, but with actions." Actions always speak louder than words, and leading by example is a very effective and powerful way to instill positive values ​​and lessons in children.

There are environmental issues that concern me these days. I've experienced them firsthand, almost daily, and I've witnessed many of them... I'm talking about animal abuse and the local and forest fires in the area where I live. These two situations are mostly driven by malicious intent, and sadly, repeatedly, by young people.

What's even sadder is that they do it for fun, out of boredom, and to annoy the adults who have tried to impart a valuable lesson to them—often a teacher or a neighbor, because in most cases, this lesson doesn't originate at home.

As an educator, I believe that one of the main measures I would like to see institutionalized in my country and any other is the teaching of animal and environmental protection in all schools worldwide, not only from a theoretical perspective, but also from a practical one.

Create a subject in primary education where children begin to learn about and become familiar with respecting birds, and stray dogs and cats; how to avoid mistreating them, to be empathetic, and to grow up always thinking about protecting and caring for them, not abandoning them; how to explore the countless ways to help those abandoned on the street; how to discourage the use of fireworks as a means of celebration; how to plant trees, care for plants, understand the cultivation process and the importance of vegetation in our environment; how to be aware of the dangers of starting fires and not handle any object that could cause one, among many other measures.

Why? Because we grow up learning from good examples, through practice, by watching others do these good things that provide valuable lessons. We grow up with hearts full of kindness and far removed from evil, so that we can become good people in the future who continue to pass on wonderful things to new generations.

A friend's testimony from previous months regarding local fires—something that was verified but no further information was available—concerned a wave of fires in vacant lots or yards of abandoned houses in the city, mostly started by local teenagers and witnessed by neighbors. The situation was brought under control, but this action is considered the root of the problem: a lack of values ​​and supervision in homes.

Similarly, and I am a witness to this myself, there are cases of animal abuse perpetrated by children who use hitting birds and stray animals as a form of entertainment, even in front of indifferent adults.

Therefore, I believe that these measures in schools and in the community itself not only allow us to transmit a tangible example of kindness and empathy to our children in order to preserve the environment and protect green spaces, as well as the animals, birds, dogs, and cats that live there, but also to prevent the promotion of wars and violence, which only ruin peace and well-being in the world.

Hola a todos, muy buenos días. Hoy me integro al primer concurso del año en Amazing Nature, gracias a la invitación de mi amiga @brujita18. Éste está titulado: ¿Cómo cambiarías el mundo?. Extiendo esta invitación a mis amigos @tonyes, y @nathyortiz.

Hay una frase muy repetida que he tenido presente a lo largo de mi labor docente, y es “transmitir a mis alumnos los valores no sólo con palabras, sino con acciones”. Los hechos siempre tienen más poder que las palabras, y el ejemplo, es una vía muy eficaz y poderosa para inculcar valores y enseñanzas positivas a los niños.

Hay situaciones ambientales que hoy en día me inquietan, las he vivido directamente, casi a diario, y he sido testigo de muchas de ellas… se trata del maltrato animal, y los incendios locales y forestales en la zona donde resido. Estas dos situaciones en su mayoría son impulsadas por manos llenas de maldad, y dolorosamente en repetidas ocasiones, por personas de corta edad.

Lo más triste aún es que lo hacen por diversión, por ociosidad, y por fastidiar a los adultos que han querido transmitirles una valiosa enseñanza, muchas veces se trata de un maestro o un vecino, porque en la mayoría de los casos, esta enseñanza no nace en los hogares.

Creo que como educadora, una de las principales medidas que me gustaría que se institucionalizara en mi país y en cualquier otro, es la enseñanza de la protección animal y ambiental, en todos los planteles del mundo, pero no únicamente desde la teoría, sino desde la práctica.

Crear una asignatura desde la educación primaria en la que los niños comiencen a tener contacto y familiarizarse con el respeto a las aves, y los perritos y gatitos de la calle, a no maltratarlos, a ser empáticos y crecer pensando siempre en protegerlos, cuidarlos, no abandonarlos, diseñar las miles de posibilidades de ayudar a los que se encuentran abandonados en la calle, a no fomentar la pirotecnia como instrumento de celebración, a sembrar árboles, cuidar las plantas, conocer el proceso de cultivo y la importancia de la vegetación en nuestro entorno, al peligro de crear incendios, no manipular ningún objeto que lo pueda provocar, entre muchísimas medidas más.

¿Por qué? Porque se crece aprendiendo con buenos ejemplos, en la práctica, mirando a los demás hacer estas cosas buenas que les van dejando un aprendizaje valioso, se crece con corazones llenos de bondad y alejados de la maldad para ser seres de bien en el futuro que sigan transmitiendo cosas maravillosas a las nuevas generaciones.

Un testimonio de una amiga en meses anteriores acerca de los incendios locales, algo que se pudo comprobar pero no hubo más información al respecto, era la ola de incendios en terrenos o patios de casas abandonadas en la ciudad y en su mayoría fueron provocados por adolescentes de la zona, vistos por los mismos vecinos del lugar. La situación se pudo controlar, pero es una acción que se toma como matriz del problema… ausencia de valores y supervisión en los hogares.

De la misma manera, y yo soy mi propio testimonio, los casos de maltrato animal provenientes de niños que usan como medio de diversión, golpear aves y animalitos en situación de calle, incluso, frente a la mirada indiferente de los adultos.

Por eso pienso que estas medidas en los planteles y en la misma comunidad, no sólo permiten transmitir a nuestros niños un ejemplo tangible de bondad y empatía para preservar el ambiente, y proteger las áreas verdes, al igual que los animales, aves, perros, y gatos que albergan en el lugar, sino para no fomentar guerras, ni violencia, que sólo arruinan la paz y el bienestar en el mundo.
