There's one of us who goes unnoticed, who doesn't draw attention, who doesn't stand out, who isn't the loudest voice in meetings and never interrupts others, who listens more than he speaks, and when he speaks, he speaks with the right words, because he lives for something more than seeking prominence or recognition. But he's always there when he's most needed or when it's simply opportune. He doesn't have answers for everything, but he asks questions so we think about those answers; there are questions that force us to think. He doesn't boast about knowing, but he has the wisdom to understand what others ignore.
One of us never fit into groups, sometimes left out of the loop simply because he's different, not different. There are rules that aren't written for everyone. One of us acts suddenly out of an impulse to always want to help. He doesn't want to prove anything, he just wants his actions to matter, and that's why he's persistent. He doesn't seek to be seen, but when he's not there, his absence is the first thing that's noticed.
One of us works silently for our future; one holds the door; one reminds us of happy times. They are not heroes, nor will they be included in the speeches; they are simply one of us, all different, struggling to be authentic among so many others. But when someone finally recognizes them, they bow their heads and continue acting because the best thing one of us, and each of us, does is exist.

Hay uno de nosotros que pasa desapercibido que no llama la atención, que no sobresale, en las reuniones no es la voz más alta y nunca interrumpe a los demás, que escucha más de lo que habla y cuando habla es la palabra precisa, porque vive para algo más que buscar protagonismo o reconocimiento, pero siempre está ahí presente cuando más se le necesita o cuando simplemente es oportuno. Él no tiene respuestas para todo pero hace las preguntas para que pensemos en esa respuesta, hay preguntas que nos obligan a pensar. No presume de saber pero tiene la sabiduría de entender lo que otros ignoran.
Uno de nosotros nunca encajó en grupos, a veces de largo por ser simplemente distinto, no diferente, hay reglas que para todos no están escritas. Uno de nosotros actúa de repente por el impulso de querer siempre ayudar. No quiere demostrar algo, quiere solo que sus acciones importen, y de ahí su constancia. No buscan que lo vean, pero cuando no está su ausencia es la primera que se nota.
Uno de nosotros trabaja en silencio por nuestro futuro, uno sostiene la puerta, uno nos recuerda los momentos felices. No son héroes ni serán incluidos en los discursos, simplemente son uno de nosotros, todos distintos, luchando por ser auténtico entre tantos distintos. Pero cuando finalmente alguien los reconoce, bajan la cabeza y siguen actuando porque uno de nosotros y cada uno de nosotros lo mejor que hace es: existir.
