Ali was walking quietly one rainy night in the garden, and found the damp soil smelling good. When he arrived at the pond he saw something strange. Hopping out and in, half-a-dozen frogs were dancing in perfect time upon each of the liliyads. It was so gracious that Ali giggled and said to him, a frog ballet. The small animals sprung to the air, dipped in the water, and came down all together as though they had been rehearsing some great play. The silver curtains on a stage were the ripples reflected in the moonlight. Ali was convinced that he was the sole spectator of this magic performance. The humorous music of the frogs had revived to him how beauty lay in the most ordinary things. All night the thought of the frog ballet remained in his mind.
