Save our environment today

Namaste, my Indian family. I'm here for this week's prompt, and it's an interesting topic to discuss.

In my country, people complain a lot about the government because such fellows believe that it's the responsibility of the government to save our environment, the same people who complain go about disposing their trash anyhow not minding the effect on the environment.

Most times when there is heavy rain you see some people pour their trash into the drainage system thinking the water will push the trash down but this ends up blocking the drainage system and causing erosion that affects everyone and they start blaming the government.

TIPS FOR EVERYONE

• Avoid waste

Most times when the waste company comes to pack trash I do see lots of food and household items that were trashed I keep wondering why people will buy what they don't need, buying only the quantity of food we need and the items we need at home is one way to help our environment.

It's also good for every home to have a refrigerator to help save food from decaying leading to waste.

Currently, we have recycling companies around us and that has really helped to save our environment, those empty cans that cause drainage blockage are now recycled into something useful, so instead of trashing empty cans people now make money from them, and that helps our environment.

• Plant trees

Trees help to increase the amount of oxygen intake in the environment, in cities in Nigeria we find it difficult to survive during the heat period because all the trees have been cut down, I still don't understand why cities don't have trees, if we are living where it's allowed planting trees is one way to save our environment.

Having a small garden can also help to save our environment, maybe plant vegetables or flowers 🌹 in a pot it helps to humidify the environment we live in.

• Power management.

Currently the sound and smoke of my neighbor's generator are making it difficult for me to enjoy my environment, everyone should have a solar panel to generate light when there is no electricity because the noise of this generator makes life difficult for occupants.

And we have to manage electricity, when there is electricity it doesn't make any sense to allow every 💡 bulb on when they are not in use, only put a light on when you want to make use of it.

Another way I personally save the environment is by joining the street and helping people whenever they want to clean the compound and the street, cleaning the drainage system of the compound and the street helps to keep our environment looking clean and healthy.

In summary, I will say that saving and improving the environment is the duty of every citizen, young and old and if everyone takes the lead we will have a healthy and beautiful environment to enjoy.
