It was too late

It became obvious to John that he had lost it all, but at that point it was too late.

John was a young guy who was so intelligent and this made him to be so confident of himself not knowing that his knowledge wasn't enough to get all he needed in life and sustain it, he never thought of seeking advice or guidance from anyone else but he was just that Mr Know all, he will always tell his mother "Mom your old, am intelligent and young and I know exactly what I want for myself".

Unfortunately, before he could realize his mistake, he was already in his 40s, and he had lost a huge amount of time, money, and wisdom.

He got so rich at an early age because his father was wealthy, and he inherited wealth from his father; this made him inexperienced, tho intelligent.

When John was 23 years something happened which could had helped John to amend his ways but he failed to realize his mistake rather he blamed his friend and that worsened the whole situation because the only friend he had now left him so he was all alone and due to his pride and inexperience he didn't care.

At 25 life seemed to be going so well with John; he had a very beautiful house in a well-known city, he had too many businesses that seemed to be doing well but in a real sense, those businesses were not doing well, there were no accurate records of what the business was achieving on both weekly and monthly bases, John was just focusing on the fact that he had money to spend whenever he needs money.

John didn't care about some necessary things that would sustain the business, he didn't care about his workers, he didn't even care about the government regulations and proper registrations of his businesses, even when the workers brought his attention to it, he would just overlook it.

John now made another mistake of marrying Jane; Jane was this lady who just wanted to be everywhere; she loves flashy things, she wants new clothes, new shoes, and new bags every week, she likes going to parties and spending lavishly without asking how the money comes.

At 32, before John's Mom gave up to ghost, she visited John and told him that with the way he's going, he will become empty someday, and then it will be too late to change, the damage will be so much, but John thought his Mom was just an old woman.

Gradually, the business started offering poor services, and the intelligent workers left the company because they saw danger coming, John seemed to have realized that something wasn't right because money wasn't flowing like it used to, but he didn't know what to do, he had no friend to talk to, the wife is not even interested in what is happening she only cares about the money that is not flowing again.

One morning, John got a call that his business has been encapsulated by the government and the workers had dismissed themselves, he rushed to see what's going on, he was arrested when he got there, so many charges were placed on him, including not properly registering his business and poor service to his customers, so many things that he couldn't defend.

That minute he felt the power of hindsight but he couldn't do anything, he quickly recalled warning from his mother that he ignored but it was too late, he also remembered his best friend who had had left him because of his behavior. and he was now left with thousands of had I known but it is as way too late.

The wife reached out to his step-mother, because of the love she had, she came and bailed him out from the police station, and he came back empty, there was no business and there was no money to start up another business, he ended up wasting his father's hard-earned earned wealth and this got the step-mother sad.

One day John meet one of his workers who has opened the same business and he's doing so well, he asked him "why didn't you give me a hint of what to do to save my business?"
The worker replied "Because I thought you know it would have happened that way, you always acted like you know it all" John realized that he made so many mistakes and also offended so many people, his own downfall served as a lesson to him.

He started life all over again but it wasn't easy for him anymore, he lived every day of his life with regrets about his past mistakes.
